A couple of years ago I purchased a set of Aromatique hutches made from white ash wood that were white washed. What still blows my mind is that you can paint over the cured AS wax finish in a few weeks after applying it if you want to change the color. The Annie Sloan paint dries in a a very rough, dry finish while the Rust-Oleum is more of a semi-matte, smooth finish. It’s too thick and doesn’t spread well enough. Mostly now though I just use latex satin paints, usually Valspar from Lowe’s, but others work too, and mix in purchased chalk powder.
